Brant County – Treasure your Leaves

Brant County, ON April 7

Treasure your leaves

Shredded leaves are an excellent source of nutrients and protection for your lawn and garden. They help boost nutrients, maintain moisture levels and choke out weeds. For best results, shred leaves when they are dry.

Here are some suggested tips:

  • Spread shredded leaves over your lawn (using a lawnmower works great)
  • Dig the shredded leaves directly into your garden
  • Keep leaves for effective composting
  • Leave the shredded leaves 2-3 inches deep for best results around shrubs and trees

The first urban area yard waste collection for the County of Brant is scheduled for the week of May 4-8.
