County of Brant Cancels Additional Summer and Fall Events

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the County of Brant Economic Development and Tourism division has cancelled the following events:

• Music in the Park
• Brant Celebrates
• Brant Colours
• Salute to Brant Business
“Our number one priority, at the County of Brant, is to protect the health and safety of the community and staff. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the provincial government and the health authority’s recommendations, we cannot encourage people to gather. We have made the difficult decision to cancel additional events.” said Russell Press, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the County of Brant. “This is certainly a disappointment to us and many people who look forward to these events all year. When we can safely gather again, it will be better than ever.”
Music in the Park was scheduled to occur on Thursdays at 6:30 pm, beginning July 2 and ending August 27, 2020 at Lions Park in Paris.
Brant Celebrates was set to debut on Monday, September 7, 2020 as a new week-long event which included daily events honouring arts and culture in the County of Brant.
Brant Colours, a 4-day juried plein air paint out with a show and sale, was scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Salute to Brant Business, a well-attended annual event created to thank and acknowledge local businesses for being positive corporate citizens was scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2020.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back to these events when it is safe to do so,” said Press.
Until then, please help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community by practicing physical distancing, wearing a face mask when physical distancing may be difficult and washing your hands regularly.
For more information about the events, please contact Lisa Henrique, Special Events and Filming Coordinator at 519.44-BRANT and lisa.henrique@brant.ca.
