Local Artist and Potter Opens her home for Some Festive Cheer

By : Emma Johnston

Barb Dzsudzsak, owner and artist of Pottery on Seven has had to make significant changes to her Christmas Open House, held annually at her home on the Seventh Concession. For the past few years she has welcomed a significant portion of the community into her home to explore and buy from local artisans and crafters. Her home, always elegantly decorated for Christmas is normally humming with those who love her intricate pottery or the high quality work of the vendors she brings in. Unfortunately, this year, the usual opportunity to open her house and share local talent just isn’t an option.
Disappointed, Barb has been working hard to uncover a way to share the holiday cheer with her community and still provide local hand-crafted goods to shoppers. This year she has decided to offer her own personal open house, displaying her many pieces of gorgeous pottery, having giveaways, festive treats and a classy, welcoming atmosphere to any who wants to come by.
Her pieces this year are stunning, with hand crafted Christmas trees, platters and serving pieces, beer steins, water jugs, piggy banks, Christmas decorations, mugs and home décor. Barb is offering a wide variety of pieces ranging in price, colour scheme, style and functionality. From delicate Christmas tree decorations for only $4, to vases, candle holders and other more extravagant works of art, Barb covers all the bases.
She will also be offering a number of sales and festive incentives to her visitors.
The Pottery on Seven Open House will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 10-4 PM and Sunday, November 15 from 10-4 PM. Appointments must be made ahead of time and all visitors are required to follow social distancing orders and wear masks.
Barb is also opening her home for private and small group shopping. These private events can be scheduled directly through her and will include a number of gourmet treats.
Pottery on Seven is a prime example of the local talent our community holds and provides a fabulous opportunity to do some local Christmas shopping. To check out Barb’s work, visit her this upcoming weekend!
