Meet the Nature Queens!

Sisters Rylan, age eight and Malia age 6 are a committed pair of Earth Rangers. Earth Rangers is a program run through Environment Canada helping kids complete special eco-friendly missions while learning valuable lessons and helping lead change in their communities.
The Scotland based sisters have recently completed a battery collection project where they have been collecting batteries from their friends, family and community. They have collected 8289 batteries to date which will get recycled properly this week rather than end up in landfill. Rylan explains that her and her sister are “Nature Queens” and they work hard to help save the environment and make good choices.
Mother Laura explains that environmental stewardship has always been a primary focus in their family, from growing their own food, spending as much time outdoors and even raising Monarch butterflies, the girls have been exposed to good environmental practices their whole lives.
Laura is impressed by the Earth Rangers program which offers a variety of activities, missions and incentives. The ‘Nature Queens’ encourage people who are environmentally aware to check out the Environment Canada website and join Earth Rangers.
