The County of Brant Launches Brant Cares

April 1, 2020

The County of Branthas launched a webpage called Brant Cares (www.brant.ca/BrantCares) which offers a variety of community resources and services available to people during this challenging time.

“This is what our community is all about,” said Mayor David Bailey. “In our community, we take care of each other. The people who offer a variety of services and supports are innovative, nimble and are responding to a variety of community needs.”

The Brant Cares webpage offers the community a ‘one-stop-spot’ to find a variety of community resources, businesses and services. This webpage highlights a number of businesses and community services that have changed their regular practice to meet the needs of the community during the COVID-19 health emergency.

“We want to connect citizens with the resources they need, as efficiently as possible,” said Lesley Head, Director of Recreation and Community Development with the County of Brant. “The webpage includes special accommodations to support seniors, community supports, volunteer resources and a variety of local delivery (or call and collect) food and grocery services, take-out restaurants and on-line shopping options to name a few.”

Since the onset of the COVID-19 health emergency in mid-March, County residents and business owners have been showing their true colours.

“Although this time is challenging, it is certainly bringing out the best in many people,” said Bailey. “Neighbours are helping neighbours. Strangers are helping strangers. Citizens are doing many things to lift spirits of others and make a difference.”
